Stories by the Dockside
Tales from the Inn
Step inside, gather ’round, and lend an ear, The Dickens Inn has a story or two to share. From the creak of beams to the laughter drifting across St. Katharine Docks, this old house holds many stories within its walls. Here on our blog, we’ll be spinning those tales: the characters who pass through, the flavours we serve and the moments that make this place a little bit magical.
Love, Laughter & Great Food in the Heart of London
When February nights draw in and the lights begin to glow along the Thames, The Dickens Inn opens its doors for Valentine’s Day. Set by the old docks at St Katharine’s, it’s a place made for togetherness…for sharing food, stories and a little warmth against the winter air.
Top Floor Dining, Balcony & Views
Begin with a welcome drink, then take your seats for a three-course meal, cooked with care and served to the sound of a lone violin playing softly in the background. Choose the classic menu (£50pp) or the steak set (£65pp) and let the evening unfold at its own gentle pace.
Celebrate Friendship in the Tavern Bar
For something simpler and more spirited, the Tavern Bar opens from 6pm on Friday 14th February. There’ll be fresh pizza from the oven, bottomless fizz or beer and a DJ to keep the room warm and lively.
Where to find us
Marble Quay, St Katharine’s Way… right on the water, with the docks shimmering beside you.
Whether you come hand in hand or gather with friends, The Dickens Inn is a place to slow down, raise a glass and mark Valentine’s Day in the old way…together.

Where to watch the Six Nations Rugby in London
When the Six Nations rolls around, there’s nothing like watching it in a proper pub, where the pints are cold, the food is hearty and the company is good. The Dickens Inn, tucked by the water at St Katharine Docks, is just such a place.
The Tavern Bar fills with cheer on match days, screens all around so you won’t miss a single tackle, try, or last-minute kick. Pull up a chair, grab a pint and let the game unfold while laughter and stories flow as freely as the Guinness.
And when hunger strikes, the food is ready and waiting…our Tavern menu is full of Grazing and Sharing dishes, alongside classic favourites, perfect for tucking into as you watch the action. Stay a little longer in the warm, savour every bite and let the evening stretch out in good company.
